Because of this stubborn pandemic singing in a choir is not option. Luckily Allison Renn, Director of the Lake Washington Singers, has come up with a creative way to keep singing together. All women singers are welcome. No audition necessary.

Here is the plan:
We are putting together a mini online holiday concert with seven to ten choir songs.

We will use video software to create a virtual choir video to create a video concert.

We will release the concert on Facebook, YouTube and/or some other platform and ask for donations from our patrons.

The goal is to start August 1st and do one or two songs a month.

Safety concerns: Because of the virus we will not be able to have any face-to-face group rehearsals. All the practicing and most of the recording will be done at your own home.
Tech concerns: Don't be intimidated. Allison, and several other “Techno-savvy” singers are here to help.
Music: Allison is choosing songs for the concert that are mostly familiar and are not too complicated - 2 or 3 part harmony.
Rehearsing: You will need to learn the songs and practice your part on your own. We will have practice tracks, recordings of each part (Soprano, Alto, etc.) for each song, available to help you. We will also plan to have a few live online sectional rehearsals throughout the fall.
Cost: In order to pay for Allison and our accompanist, Keith Ruby, we are asking for a donation of $60 for the season. If you feel that you do not have the time to learn all the songs or only want to participate in a few of them then you have the option to choose only the ones you want to sing. Instead of paying for the whole season we are asking a minimum donation of $10 per song.

More details to follow: In the next few weeks, Allison will send out a list of the songs we’ll be singing and the dates she would like the songs recorded by. She will also send out detailed information on how to make those recordings.
