This program of secular prayers includes the world premiere of Joseph Gregorio’s cycle Prayers. We’ll sing There will come soft rains and Places, like music by Don Skirvin; My cathedral and Discovery by Christina Whitten Thomas; When I close my eyes I dream of peace by Swedish composer Karin Rehnqvist, setting the title phrase in 12 languages; Mason Bates’ Observer in the Magellanic cloud setting a Maori entreaty to the night sky; and Eric Banks’ At all times.
