Description

Sine Nomine, with Director Anne Lyman, will present its first concert of the 2021-22 season -- continuing the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the death of French Renaissance master Josquin des Prez (c.1450-1521). We offer an all-Josquin program to highlight the great variety of musical forms and styles in which he composed, presenting both sacred and secular works; we include a couple pieces that are noted to be 'attributed' to Josquin, although scholars don't yet know 'for sure'... and be assured that all are worthy representations of the choral music of this period. We close with Josquin's exquisitely beautiful 'Ave Maria.' Come celebrate with us!
PROGRAM:
In te Domine speravi
Virgo prudentissima
Nunc dimittis
Missa 'D’ung aultre amer'
Tu pauper refugium
Ave Maria
