The South Sound Classical Choir, under the auspices of the Valley Arts Society, a 501 (c)(3), is made up of about 60 community members from Puyallup, Tacoma and surrounding South Puget Sound areas who love to sing a diverse musical repertoire that includes classical music from Renaissance to modern periods. We were honored with an invitation to participate in a performance of Ola Gjeilo's compositions at Carnegie Hall on April 15, 2018!

Weekly rehearsals for our Spring concert season begin the second Monday of January at Mt. Tahoma High School in Tacoma from 7 to 9 pm. We take the summers off and begin our Fall season on the Monday after Labor Day. We typically sing four concerts in early December and four in early May. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our rehearsals and concerts for this spring and fall due the the coronavirus pandemic. We are working on finding a way to sing virtually in the spring of 2021.

Dues are $20/month, but new members and past members returning from "sabbatical" get the first month free. Scholarships are available for members in financial need. Auditions are not required, except for those requesting to sing solos during our performances. For information on joining, contact choir director Sheri-Ann Nishiyama or come to a choir practice and you will be welcomed.
