Description

Orchestra Seattle and the Seattle Chamber Singers form a partnership unique among Pacific Northwest musical organizations, combining a 70-member orchestra with a 55-voice chorus to perform oratorio masterworks alongside symphonic and a cappella repertoire. OSSCS offers 6-8 concerts per season.

OSSCS's nearly fifty-year history includes many world, North American, and regional premieres, and a commitment to innovative programming. Collaboration and community outreach are central to our mission, and our goal is to be among the leaders in Seattle's artistic community.

The focus of our 2018-2019 Season will be the works of Lili Boulanger, one of music history's lost geniuses. Other highlights include Haydn's "Autumn" from The Seasons, Handel's Messiah, Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, and a collaboration with the University of Washington choirs to perform Benjamin Britten's War Requiem.

Some repertoire highlights from our past include: Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Poulenc's Gloria, Bach's B Minor Mass and passion settings, Mozart's Requiem, and Brahms' German Requiem.

*OSSCS is actively seeking new choir members for the 2018-2019 season. Please email info@osscs.org for more information or to schedule an audition.*
