Description
Lake Washington Singers (LWS) is a treble choir for singers in the soprano and alto voices. LWS has been sharing music with the community since 1952. We welcome new members who enjoy singing, improving their vocal skills, performing and having lots of fun. New members can join at the start of each performance season: September and January.
No audition is required to join the choir however an ear for music and willingness to practice and commitment to attending rehearsals is most important. It is helpful, but not necessary, to be able to read music, as we have online tools to help you learn your part.
We enjoy singing a wide variety of music: contemporary, Broadway, folk, gospel, classical, jazz, etc.
Fall season culminates with a winter concert in December; the spring season ends with our annual spring concert in June.
In addition to our main concerts, we also perform several “mini” concerts each season at various senior living communities and enjoy singing at seasonal festivals and events.
Revenue from performances along with reasonable monthly dues enable us to purchase music, cover expenses, and present annual scholarships to local high school vocal students.
We currently rehearse on Monday evenings at 7 pm at Kirkland United Church of Christ Congregational Church, 106 5th Ave, Kirkland, WA, 98033.
