Description
A day of women’s/adult treble choral ensembles getting our choirs together for sharing short performances, workshops on singing/voice pedagogy, and sharing a meal! Featuring Cate Frazier-Neely as our plenary session speaker!
10:00 Gather and welcome: “Opening Sing” led by Emily DenBleyker
10:10 Plenary Session: Cate Frazier-Neely “Menopausal Transition and the Singing Body”
11:00 Breakout Sessions by Interest (choose one)
• Somatic Circle Singing (Cate Frazier-Neely)
• From Child Treble to Adult Treble: technical consolations (Emily DenBleyker)
• The Anatomy of a Choral Warm-Up: for singers and directors (Scott Kovacs)
12:00 Lunch (bring your own, Ancora will provide beverages!)
12:34 Performance Workshop:
• One piece you are currently working on (no polished performances)
• Cate will offer written comments to each group
• Directors will place their name in a hat- after each group performs with their own conductor, the conductor will pull a name from the hat. That conductor will have a chance to clinic with the ensemble for seven to ten minutes on the piece they just performed. (Thanks Jeremy, for this great idea!)
