Premiering “From Such Sparks,” composed by Gerald Cohen in memory of Mary Pat Graham

Seattle Jewish Chorale invites you to a special concert. Our final performance this season is a journey through a year and a lifetime. How do we grow? How do we celebrate? How do we leave the world a more loving, more brilliant place?

Our former director, Mary Pat Graham, passed away last January. Her influence was integral to SJCs musical growth and community strength. After her retirement, she was still one of our dearest friends. The clear way to honor her memory was with a new piece of music. Our composer search led us to Gerald Cohen, who gracefully, beautifully fulfilled the commission. His work to commemorate the beloved Mary Pat Graham, “From Such Sparks,” will be this concert’s finale.

Directed by Jacob Finkle, the music will feature our talented Collaborative Pianist, Alex Fang, as well as a fabulous roster of soloists and instrumentalists. And we might have a special guest star to announce a little while down the road! Please join us for a beautiful, uplifting, and inspiring afternoon.
