Thought by some to be Rachmaninoff’s response to the outbreak of World War I, his All Night Vigil – or Vespers – stands as the crowning achievement of the “Golden Age” of Russian Orthodox sacred choral music. Experience his orchestral treatment of voices in either (or both!) of these remarkable acoustic settings: Plymouth Church (Seattle) or the Washington State Capitol Rotunda (Olympia).
