Description

The Medieval Women's Choir begins their 27th season with NOWELL SING WE, a winter concert that continues our long tradition of illuminating the season with a uniquely musical medieval celebration. With roots in antiquity and beyond, winter celebrations have a long history in European culture. Early Christians chose a date close to the Roman festival of Saturnalia to celebrate the birth of Christ, and by medieval times Christmas had generated a huge outpouring of music in every European land.
