Description

The 2024 Mirinesse program, Measure Me, Sky!, was inspired by the Sara Teasdale poem, “Leaves”, which is set for a cappella double choir in “Blinded By a Leafy Crown” in our program. “…But the little leaves that die have left me room to see the sky; Now for the first time I know Stars above and earth below.“ This called forth wonderful earth and stars repertoire choices for us; a walking, meandering and biking journey on earth and looking up and seeing the stars, “I know I am honored to be witness of so much majesty.”
Poetic metaphors for our own journey through life abound. Themes of Community, Love and Hope shine through the songs as we “walk in good company with rev’rence where forgiveness and wisdom have stood.” Singing together, we reach nearer the stars by a song.
