The popular Mass in Time of War is one of the six late masses of Haydn which are among his finest works for chorus and orchestra. It was written in 1796, when Vienna was under threat by Napoleon’s army. The Seattle Choral Company joins the Northwest Sinfonietta, their distinguished conductor David Lockington, and four superb soloists. This performance of Haydn’s masterpiece promises to be powerful, joyful, and emotional.
