You will not want to miss Rainier Chorale’s annual Masterworks Concert, Light Eternal, featuring the Rainier Youth Choirs on March 16 &17 at Kent United Methodist Church. The program will include a 16-piece orchestra and will focus on newer works including pieces from some of the contemporary choral world’s most inspiring young voices including John Michal Trotta, Elaine Hagenberg and Dan Forrest.
The centerpiece of the concert will be a performance of Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. This five movement work centers around the theme of light and uses sacred Latin texts for its inspiration. The piece has become a staple of the contemporary choral canon since it was first performed in 1997.
