We humans constantly reach out to each other to connect using our hands, our hearts, and our voices. The bonds created give us strength. Hands, hearts, and voices are our tools for change.
Through the simple act of opening ourselves to others, we can often provide comfort, healing, and hope. Vox Pacifica’s spring performance will explore these connections through song. This upbeat program will include Sara Bareilles’ Kaleidoscope Heart and Sing! by Pentatonix, both featuring energetic body percussion. Stephanie Straight will join us on djembe and vibraphone. James Mulholland’s luscious Heart, We Will Forget Him is set to the poetry of Emily Dickinson. It features a horn collaboration with Jane Aspnes that will certainly fill your hearts.
We are also proud to introduce the Happy Valley Elementary Choir directed by Katie Tully, and the debut performance of WA State Senator Sharon Shewmake. A highly entertaining and moving program is in the works! Tickets can be purchased in advance online and also at Village Books, in Fairhaven (Bellingham).
