Description
Sine Nomine, with Anne Lyman directing, proudly presents 'Fierce Queens: A Legacy of Power and Grace.' This program features music composed during the reigns of the some of the most powerful women to rule Europe during the Renaissance. Experience music from the courts of Mary, Queen of Scots; Catherine de Medici; Mary Tudor; Isabella I of Castile; and Elizabeth I. We will offer songs by some of the greatest composers of their times: Tallis, Byrd, di Lasso, and Palestrina - as well as by those less familiar: Arcadelt, Encina, and le Jeune, and tunes from Scottish and English Psalters.
