“It’s About Time!” is a high-energy music revue, featuring music by The Beatles, The Pointer Sisters, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Billy Joel, The Guess Who, Cyndi Lauper, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Rolling Stones, The Talking Heads, and many more! “It’s About Time!” features the vocal, dance, and dramatic talents of the 36-member Vocalpoint! Seattle ensemble, a select group of high school men and women from throughout the Puget Sound region.

Begun in 2010, sing! Sing! SING! is Northwest Sound’s 6-week program providing free a capella singing training for men of the community. Participants are given free group music lessons, sheet music and training media, participation in chorus rehearsals, and an opportunity to perform with the chorus in its annual spring shows.

To honor the 200th birthday of French composer, Charles Gounod, ChoralSounds NW and VocalSounds NW will perform his stunning piece, Messe Solennelle, as well as fellow Frenchman Gabriel Fauré’s beloved Requiem. Both pieces, performed entirely in Latin, will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.

Inspired by a world full of exotic choral sounds from Russia, Spain, Japan, and Persia, Ancora, a Seattle-based women’s choir, presents "Postcards: Songs from the Four Corners." The rich poetry and culture of these faraway places will come alive in settings from composers Abbie Betinis, Bob Chilcott, Einojuhani Rautavaara, and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Beginning in the 10th century, the Christian church began to recognize certain holy persons as saints, and by the end of the middle ages, the list of the canonized was extensive. Many were felt to have a special relationship to a certain believers, such as young clerics (St. Nicholas) or bakers (St. Elizabeth), and were called upon to intercede with God on their behalf. Songs praising Saints were common throughout the middle ages. Join our musical journey through the pantheon of medieval saints!

Here in the Northwest we are used to dealing with the weather, so let’s celebrate it in song. Of course rain features prominently, especially in Eric Whitacre’s Cloudburst and a new arrangement of Stormy Weather by our own Jeremy Kings. We will sing music by composers old and new, ranging from Billings, Brahms, and Elgar to John Rutter, Joan Szymko, and Joy Porter. And don’t worry: there is plenty of sunlight too.

Auditions for New Members – Saturday, June 2, 2018. Alternate dates available.

The Northwest Boychoir will hold auditions for new members at its facility at the University Heights Center in Seattle on Saturday, June 2 or at a time convenient for families. We are looking for boys ages 6-9 who will be in first-fourth grades in the fall for September enrollment. All boys are eligible to audition; no prior musical training is required – just musical aptitude and obvious enjoyment of music.

The highly acclaimed Northwest Boychoir announces their Choral Tradition series for June 2018. Now in its fourth season, Choral Tradition celebrates the breadth and diversity of the classical choral repertoire. This year’s program will feature Johann Michael Haydn’s Missa Sancti Aloysii, composed in 1777 for treble voices and Francis Poulenc’s Gloria composed in 1959/1960 for SATB chorus.
