Concert: From Baltic Shores — Choral Music from Nordic, Baltic, and Scandinavian Countries

Join Artistic Director Freddie Coleman, accompanist Justin Hansen, and the members of Ancora as we explore choral music from the countries around the Baltic Sea. From Copenhagen to Saint Petersburg, from Stockholm to Riga, we will present current contributions to music written expressly for women’s voices.

Concert: Let Justice Roll Down — A Multi-Media Musical Journey to Selma and Back

Join us on a moving multi-media journey toward openness, understanding, and a path toward dismantling racism through understanding white supremacy and privilege. Featuring many talented Greater Seattle-based musicians, including Duo-Organists Wanda Griffiths & Stephen Marshall-Ward with reSound, a Northwest Chamber Ensemble, Dave Beck, cello, Kyle Erickson, trumpet, Ian Alvarez, percussion, and filmed interviews with Plymouth Youth Forum members.

Auditions are open to women ages 18 & older of all voice parts, though we are currently especially interested in altos. Our spring season runs February through June, with 2 performances scheduled in June (King FM on 6/7 and our concert on 6/15). We rehearse on Thursdays, 7:15-9:30pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church on Capitol Hill, 1200 10th Ave. E, Seattle, WA 98102.

Join us for a wonderful evening of music with drinks and light appetizers as we perform some old favorites, some new selections, and introduce the new members of the ensemble. This concert is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your support to keep our momentum going!

Open House: Potluck and opening rehearsal — Start off the spring season with camaraderie and great music. New singers especially welcome.

The Magnolia Chorale begins its Spring 2019 season with a potluck at 5:45 pm, new singers welcome by director at 6:30 pm, and first rehearsal from 7 to 9 pm. No audition but newcomers will sing for the director so she can place you. We welcome singers with previous choral experience. Meet at Magnolia United Church of Christ, in spacious Pilgrim Hall (enter on Eastmont Way West). Bring a dish or beverage to share. Our rehearsals are fun! Student scholarships available.

If you are looking for a place to sing that will challenge and satisfy you at the same time, NW Chorale may be just the place for you. Members come from all walks of life in the greater Seattle area, but have one thing in common — a love of music.

Auditions are held informally by section (you sing with your section) and take place during the first several weeks of rehearsals. Singers are expected to keep up during rehearsal, and have regular attendance.

Join Ireland’s most exciting young tenor Emmet Cahill as he embarks on his biggest tour to date and debuts his brand-new album of traditional Irish songs in 2019! This follows his number-one World Music album “Emmet Cahill’s Ireland” on the Sony Music USA label and his sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall.

Emmet will perform many of the songs from the new album, as well as Broadway standards, nostalgic favorites and beloved church hymns.

In conjunction with the Baltic Arts Northwest Council we reach beyond the Nordic borders to explore the music of today's most frequently-performed living Latvian composer, Peteris Vasks, with him in attendance. His lyricism, influenced by nature and Latvian folk music and characterized by a heartfelt directness and honesty, will be expressed through music for flute, string quartet and vocal ensemble, performed by Northwest artists, Paul Taub, the Skyros Quartet and the Mägi Ensemble.
