Johann Nepomuk Hummel's MASS IN B-FLATMasterworks Concert
In his day, Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) was highly respected as a composer and pianist. He has the distinction of being the only full time music student of Mozart. Most remembered for his piano compositions, his sacred music is also well regarded. This is the first of five orchestral Masses composed by Hummel during his time at the Esterhazy court, and continues the tradition of the masses of Mozart and Haydn. Join us for this marvelous work, plus selections by other master composers.
