In this short introductory concert, each of RYC's six ensembles perform two songs and then combine for a rousing gospel piece "This is the Day" by Gerald Smith, and Kirkland's "Salute to the Armed Forces". Other selections include "The Frim Fram Sauce," "No Time," "Song of the Angels" (Angels Watching Over Me), Alice Parker's "Hard Times Come Again No More," Kirchner's "Bright Morning Star", audience sing-a-longs, and more.

Peter Tchaikovsky's victorious 1880 court case surrounding his Divine Liturgy opened the floodgates of creativity in Russian Orthodox Church music. Benedict Sheehan, an emerging authority on Russian Orthodox singing and music director at St. Tikhon’s Seminary and Monastery in Pennsylvania, makes his Cappella Romana debut with this program featuring selections from Tchaikovsky’s groundbreaking All-Night Vigil, Op. 52, and his transcendent Nine Sacred Pieces.

Featuring “This Land is Your Land,” "Quiet" by MILCK, and Holly Near's "Fired Up."

“Hop ‘Til You Drop!” features the vocal, dance, and dramatic talents of the 30-member Vocalpoint! Seattle ensemble, a select group of high school men and women from throughout the Puget Sound region.

All performances will take place at Broadway Performance Hall at 1625 Broadway Avenue on Capitol Hill. Performance times are 7:30 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 2:30 pm on Sunday. The production closes on Sunday, October 29th.

Please join Vocalise for our inaugural concert, presenting works by living composers. "Out of the Drawer" will feature music by local composers Don Skirvin and Reg Unterseher, as well as Philip Wharton, Rita Ueda, Stef Conner, and Joshua Fishbein.

An exploration of sacred music from the Eastern and Western Christian tradition. The program features Anglican and Catholic motets by Renaissance greats—Byrd, Palestrina, and Gibbons; complemented by the Eastern style of Tavener, Stravinksy, and Pärt. Despite the fact that the motets were written over the span of 500 years, each one of these masterpieces communicates a mystic and profound spiritual mood.

reSound, a Northwest Chamber Ensemble presents Reformed & Reforming, celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.

This free concert will also feature Skyros String Quartet, Kyle Erickson, Trumpeter, and special musical guests Steve Thoreson, tenor, and Andrew Marshall, sound healer. This exciting event will feature the world premiere of "From Death to New Life: A Requiem Mass for the Church," by Michael Austin Miller and Stephen Marshall-Ward.

Heinrich Isaac was a prolific and talented member of the most celebrated generation of Renaissance composers active at the turn of the 16th century. Sine Nomine and Dr. Anne Lyman offer this concert as a celebration of this great composer on the 500th anniversary of his death. The program includes some of his best-known works, in particular the famous German song 'Innsbruck ich muss dich lassen,' its parody mass 'Missa Carminum,' 'Optime pastor' plus works by other Flemish composers of the time.

We celebrate Finland with Sibelius’ Finlandia and Karelia Suite,Rautavaara’s Lintukoto (Isle of Bliss), Saariaho's Leino Songs, a Finnish polka and waltz ending with Sibelius’ patriotic cantata Oma maa (My Native Land) for choir and orchestra. Philharmonia Northwest, directed by Julia Tai, will be joined by soprano Maria Männistö and singers from the Finnish Choral Society and local Nordic and Baltic choirs.

On Saturday, November 11th , approximately two hundred talented young musicians will take their places on the magnificent stage at Benaroya Hall. The youth choirs of Seattle Children’s Chorus ( Arioso, Camerata, Coro Vivo, and the Alumni) have been invited to join the Cascade Youth Symphony for a stunning collaborative performance to honor our country’s veterans. This moving performance will include some of our country’s great patriotic literature written for orchestra and choir.
