Remember the joy of Christmas as seen through the eyes of a child and the magic of song.

The purest lens for viewing life is through the eyes of a child. Each year we re-experience many of our most deeply cherished memories and rituals and, better still, allow ourselves to see and feel them once again as children. Join our 40-voice choir and 4-piece band as we remember Christmases past, celebrate this Christmas, and look forward with hope to Christmases to come.

Prime Voci, Seattle Girls Choir’s premiere ensemble, presents Carmina Angelorum: Songs of the Angels, featuring music celebrating winter and the holiday season.

Central to the concert is our annual performance of Benjamin Britten’s choral masterpiece A Ceremony of Carols, featuring Juliett Stratton on harp. Also on the program is R. Murray Schafer’s meditative Snowforms, and several pieces inspired by the aurora borealis. Rounding out the evening are several perennial holiday favorites.

We will continue our Christmas journey through Christmas and winter-themed music from many different lands and traditions, accompanied in style by returning guest percussionist Patrick Roulet. The colorful Misa Criolla, by renowned Argentenian composer Ariel Ramírez, will be a highlight of our travel through world-wide styles. Finally, we'll return home to songs that are close to our own hearts and hearths.

City Cantabile Choir's signature holiday concert is much beloved in our community and this year we will celebrate Celtic traditions with International recording artist Connie Dover. This will be the first time Connie Dover has appeared in Seattle. She is featured on numerous recordings and is celebrated for her beautiful, lyric voice. Also appearing in the group will be Tom Creegan on uilleann pipes, Randall Bayes on fiddle and Irish step dancers.

We celebrate the gift of music with holiday favorites NWRS has performed over the past 16 seasons. Highlights include music with brass ensemble, harp, oboe, percussion and a finale for choir, instruments and audience. Repertoire includes "O Magnum Mysterium" (Morten Lauridsen), "Three Nativity Carols" (Stephen Paulus), "Gloria" (Randol Alan Bass), and "He Is Born" (Donna Gartman Schultz). Retiring artistic director Paul Schultz presents a lecture on the program one hour prior to each concert.
